Doctor Who fans rejoiced last night as the show was crowned 'Most Popular Drama' at the National Television Awards, alongside Matt Smith who won for 'Most Popular Drama Performance'.
The awards have been running since 1995, and broadcast by ITV, considered to be the most prominent UK awards ceremony to be voted by the general public.
Who's victory in 'Most Popular Drama' included other nominations such as Call the Midwife, Downton Abbey and Broadchurch, whilst Matt Smith beat the likes of Maggie Smith, Martin Clunes and Miranda Hart - a category that is now shared by actors and actresses alike.
While Jenna Coleman and Steven Moffat accepted the award for 'Most Popular Drama', Matt Smith was unable to attend the ceremony due to his currently-running performance in the musical adaptation of American Psycho. Making up for his absence, he still managed to send a rather eccentric thank you video, displayed at the ceremony itself:
